Wood Spindle Candle Holders
Hello friends! If you’ve been following along on Facebook, you know I have been keeping busy crafting and even started joining in on weekly Facebook lives.

The candle holders that I’m sharing today were a craft I previewed last week on my Facebook page.
It all started with my interior front door. It was a standard builder grade white door and I have been itching to paint it a happy color.

So I hit up my stash of paint and went with a gorgeous blue called Poolside. It’s so warm and welcoming.
You know how one project leads to another, right? So now I started looking at other things and decided I wanted some pretty candle holders for my mantel.
I already had the paint out, so why not? Plus, I had a broken chair in my basement with a bunch of spindles.
See how this all came together. I love when that happens.
If you don’t have any spindles, you can order some online for about $1 a piece, so it’s a very budget-friendly DIY.
How To Make Wood Spindle Candle Holders
Supplies
Step 1.
Paint wood spindles in the color of your choice. You can use a light whitewash, or fully coat the spindles.
It’s totally up to you. I like a little bit of a chippy look. It really gives it that farmhouse style.
Step 2.
Paint the scrap wood and clay saucers. You will need at least 2-3 coats of paint. Let fully dry.
Step 3.
Use E-6000 to attach the spindles to the clay saucers and/or the scrap wood. I only had three saucers on hand so I used wood for the rest.
Step 4.
You can leave as is, or go back with a sanding block to distress it. And that’s it!
I’m so happy with how these farmhouse spindle candle holders turned out, and they are so budget-friendly.
The clay saucers were 3 for $1 and the spindles were free. You can’t beat that!
